Topic:
Frank Duff: Founder of the Legion of Mary - His Legacy, the Handbook
Frank Duff, Servant of God, met the challenges of the early 20th century in Dublin, Ireland, both spiritually and physically. Learn how the life, times, prayer and work of Frank Duff brought him to have the first meeting that became the Legion of Mary, now universal, whose primary work is evangelization. His outreach to people needing conversion is the epitome of mercy. Frank Duff taught that an ordinary man could be a saint. He knew, and was a prime example, of how integral the lay people are to the Church. How the Legion of Mary became and remained so effective was partially do to the brilliant accomplishment of Frank Duff - the Handbook through which Frank Duff set down guidelines not only for the government but also a means of aspiring to greater sanctity through Devotion to Mary, by becoming her slave, and the works of the Legion of Mary.
See how his ideals and his system of evangelization are just as rich and relevant today, nearly 100 years later. The Legion of Mary Handbook teaches and guides members decade after decade to work and grow in Faith. |

Deacon Cody Miller: ... has served the diocese of Lafayette Louisiana for 27 years. Upon completing his assignment at St Joseph Church in Milton Louisiana, he was reassigned by Bishop Michael Jarrell to extension work in the New Evangelization. Fifteen years ago Deacon Cody encountered St Louis Marie de Montfort and his spirituality of baptismal renewal and total consecration to Jesus through Mary in the classic work "True Devotion". Deacon Cody has become increasingly engaged both nationally and internationally as a spiritual director in the work of recruitment and formation for the Legion of Mary. It was not surprising that Cody was led to this work since the charism of the Legion's founder was inspired by Montfort's spirituality of "True Devotion". Deacon Cody has been active in the formation work at the praesidium, curia, senatus, comitium level of the Legion. He directs training programs in the Legion Handbook.. Deacon Cody attended Loyola Institute of Ministry in the Master's Program of Pastoral Ministry. He and his wife of 34 years, Cyndi, have a son attending LSU Law School.
